Main Street Phase 1 & 2; City of Las Vegas

Innovative Contracting and Engineering provided ICE services for the Main Street Improvement projects. These projects included full roadway reconstruction and installation of a new stormdrain system and sanitary sewer in heavy traffic section of Main Street. Services provided by our team included production based cost estimating, constructability reviews, construction scheduling, risk analysis/risk mitigation, and helping City of Las Vegas successfully negotiate a fair market price for the GMP. Our team added value to this project by taking an innovative approach to the project phasing. There was a NV Energy transmission pole that was required to be relocated during a specific time of the year. The designers had agreed that it should be relocated late in the project, which essentially extended the project duration and increased the disruption to businesses along Main Street longer. After we reviewed the phasing, we suggested moving the pole relocation to the beginning of the project. This suggestion alone saved the City approximately 6 months in the schedule, and over $500,000 in project costs!
