Moana Lane Diverging Diamond Interchange; Nevada DOT

Innovative Contracting and Engineering provided ICE services for this capacity improvements project to the Moana Lane/I-580 Interchange.  This award-winning project was NDOT’s first CMAR project. Our services included constructability review, cost estimating, and scheduling services. Our production based cost estimates provided pricing competition in the CMAR process. Our team performed research on material suppliers, available construction materials, labor rates, production rates, and assembled production-based cost estimates at the 60% design level, 100% design level, and at the GMP.  We worked with the Contractor and the DEPARTMENT to develop an innovative approach to delivering this project.  The team agreed to shut down the ramps, and expedite the construction phase to open Moana Lane back up before the holiday shopping season.  As a result, we completed the design and construction 7-months ahead of schedule and opened Moana Lane before Thanksgiving that year.
